We had a wonderful Enrichment Night tonight. A big THANK YOU to all of the committee members who made it such a success. It was a lot of fun to do a progressive dinner, and we appreciate those who opened up their homes to us. The soups and salads were all delicious, and we will be collecting recipes and posting them on the blog for those who are interested in them. We're grateful to all of you sisters who attended, and we missed those who were unable to. Also, Thank You to those who participated in our Service Gift Exchange. Following are photos from the dinner. We wish all a wonderful Holiday Season!!

Corrina Emch's daughter is still trying to fundraise for her Faith project, which is the Breast Cancer 3 Day. They are looking for anyone who owns a business who would be willing to sponsor them on the event or anyone who would be willing to donate a service from their business towards a raffle basket they are hoping to get put together for the event. They are down to 4 weeks before they have to have the money raised and are looking for ideas.

Thank you. Please contact Corrina Emch if you can help: corrina_emch@hotmail.com

Breast Cancer 3 Day Fundraiser

On October 1 (Wednesday) my work agreed to have a benefit night to raise money for my mom and I to go on the Breast Cancer 3-Day. It would be from 4 - 10 PM at Denny's, located at 3971 S Gilbert Road (in the Target Plaza on Gilbert and Germann). 10% of the evening's receipts will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We must raise at least $4,400 to participate and we haven't reached that amount yet. So come enjoy a really good meal and help find the cure for breast cancer! If you are unable to make it but still want to make a donation you can log on to the website: www.the3day.org , type in Erika Emch and make a donation online (: Every little bit is appreciated. Thank you!

Hard Red Wheat

Costco has sealed buckets of Hard Red Wheat from Lehi Roller Mills - very good quality. I think each bucket was around $28. It's only here on a trial basis in Arizona - limited time only based on how well it sells.
Since the cannery is only offering certain products each month, I wanted to get the word out in case any of you need wheat - remember there is a global shortage of wheat........Salt Lake City Distribution Center even approached Lehi Roller Mills to see if they had any available to sell to the distribution center - i.e. there really is a shortage

Word of Wisdom Class

This month the preparedness committee is focused on the Word of Wisdom and we have invited Jacque Gurney to teach us all about it. You will NOT want to miss this presentation. Jacque is incredibly talented and will not only cover the word of wisdom but will teach us how to honor the bodies we have been blessed with by monitoring everything that enters our bodies. We need to be strong both physically, emotionally and mentally and should not only watch food and exercise, but the thoughts we bring into our bodies also. Please share the news with anyone who would like to come. Please join us in the Relief Society room on Tuesday July 15th at 9:30 a.m.

Crib For Sale & Cabin Trip

I have a crib for sale. I'm asking $50 or best offer. Attached are the pictures of it. It does include the mattress and any crib sheets I have. There is a lilttle paint damage along the side - as you can see in the picture, but make me an offer and it's yours.

Also, I'm going to my grandparents cabin from the 13th through the 18th if anyone would like to join me. Yes, that's father's day weekend. I'm giving the gift, that I want for Mother's Day, time by oneself. It's where we had our retreat last October. You can bring your kids and we can work out food or just provide for ourselves. For those that haven't been up there it is 2 hours from Chandler and it's northeast of Payson (approx. 5300 elevation), so usually 10-20 degrees cooler than here!

Volunteers for PTO at Ryan Elementary

I know that a lot of the sisters and brethren in the ward have children that attend our school. It is always nice to have a say in the kids education and help in making the school year a success. We are starting to put together the PTO committee earlier in the summer so we can get off to an early, smooth start for the 2008/2009 school year. I will be heading up the Art Masterpiece Program for the school as well as working on the student newsletter and publicity. We would love to have volunteers in all areas of the PTO program, such as Fundraising, Daddy Club, Yearbook, Publicity, EScipt, etc. What a wonderful service this would provide to our community, our children, and a GREAT MISSIONARY OPPORTUNITY! Thanks to those who have already signed up and if you haven't yet, please feel free to contact me, Fedora J. Hunsaker (480) 895-1414 fjoeh@msn.com, or Denise Courson, PTO President (480) 802-6890 RyanPTO@yahoo.com

Free Piano Tuner

My hubby is apprenticing as a piano tuner and currently looking for pianos to tune for free. He needs all the practice he can get, so any out-of-tune piano would be great! It still takes him about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, but he doesn't charge, and his teacher says he does a good job. If you have a piano that you would like tuned, please call me to schedule a time.
